EXPRESS LU6.2 [Apertus Technologies, Inc]

EXPRESS LU6.2 is the most thorough implementation of IBM's advancedLU6.2/APPC protocol. It provides peer-to-peer communications capabilitiesacross a wide variety of devices on an SNA network, allowing applicationprograms to conduct "conversations" with each other. With EXPRESS LU6.2,users of UNIX systems can communicate directly with IBM devicessupporting LU6.2 (such as System/370 with VTAM or CICS, the System/36,the System/38, and the AS/400), as well as with non-IBM systems that useLU6.2.EXPRESS LU6.2 also serves as an important base for the implementation ofhigher-level Service Transaction Programs (TPs) defined by IBM. Theseinclude: Document Interchange Architecture (DIA), SNA DistributionServices (SNADS), and Distributed Data Management (DDM).
